Privacy policy

Which data are processed when you visit this website, why, for how long, and what rights you have.

Zwei Frauen im Gespräch im Hof

This statement describes which personal data are processed when you visit forumkreuzberg.de, on what legal basis this happens and what rights you have.

1. Controller

Forum Kreuzberg Wohngenossenschaft eG
Köpenicker Str. 174, 10997 Berlin
Phone 030 611 10 18
Email: arge@forumkreuzberg.de

We have not appointed a data protection officer, because the legal requirements under Art. 37 GDPR and § 38 BDSG do not apply.

2. Hosting and server log files

When you call up this website your browser transmits technically necessary data which our host stores in log files: IP address, date and time of access, the page called up, the volume of data transferred, the referrer as well as browser type and operating system.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and undisturbed operation of the website and in defending against attacks. The log files are deleted after seven days at the latest, unless they are needed longer to clear up a specific security incident.

Hosting provider: Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. There is a data processing agreement with the provider under Art. 28 GDPR.

3. Cookies

On the publicly accessible pages we do not set any cookies for analysis, marketing or tracking purposes. There is therefore no cookie banner. Technically necessary cookies are only set when you log in to the internal area or open a password-protected page. They serve solely to maintain the session and become invalid when you log out or close the browser. The legal basis is § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

4. Fonts and external content

All fonts are hosted locally on our server. No connections are made to Google Fonts or comparable services. We embed no maps, videos or social media elements from third parties. We do not use analysis or tracking tools.

In some places we link to third-party websites, for instance to businesses in the house or partner organisations. The providers there are solely responsible for their data processing.

5. Getting in touch

There is no contact form on this website. If you reach us by email or telephone we process your details in order to deal with the enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for contract-related enquiries, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We delete the data as soon as the enquiry has been dealt with and no retention periods under commercial or tax law stand in the way.

6. Internal members‘ area

The area „Intern“ is password-protected and addressed to members of the co-operative. For logging in we process the user name, the email address and an encrypted password hash as well as the time of the last login. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, the performance of the membership relationship.

In the internal area members can book shared rooms. Name, contact details and the requested period are stored so that the occupancy remains traceable. We delete these data when they are no longer needed for administering the bookings.

The address and membership administration of the co-operative deliberately does not take place on this website but in a separate system with restricted access.

7. Newsletter

For members and interested people we send newsletters using software operated on our own server. Registration uses the double opt-in procedure: after you sign up you receive an email with a confirmation link. Only then do we add you. We store the email address, the time of registration and the IP address used for it, in order to be able to prove consent.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time, through the unsubscribe link in every issue or informally by email. After withdrawal we delete your data from the distribution list.

8. Recipients and disclosure

We do not pass personal data to third parties, apart from to our hosting provider as a processor and where we are legally obliged to do so. No transfer takes place to countries outside the EU and the EEA.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

  • Access to the data stored about you (Art. 15)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
  • Erasure, unless retention obligations stand in the way (Art. 17)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
  • Data portability (Art. 20)
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)
  • Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3))

Please contact arge@forumkreuzberg.de for this. Independently of that you have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin.

10. Changes

We adapt this statement when the processing on this website changes. Status: August 2026.
