IRDEN is a workshop for interiors and furniture at Eisenbahnstraße 21. It works in wood, steel and linoleum, to order, as single pieces or small series.

Behind the workshop are two people with different backgrounds. Sophie Goethe is an architect and plans at every scale, from furniture through interiors to whole buildings. Gianni Hanneforth is a master metalworker, a mechanic and a social worker. Design and build therefore lie in the same hands, from the first sketch to the finished piece.

Series and commissions

Alongside its own designs, tables, chairs, sideboards and bar stools, IRDEN plans contract furniture for offices, cafés, restaurants, practices and exhibition spaces. A whole series of furniture in raw steel and brass was made for a Vietnamese restaurant in Berlin, and conference and work tables for a coworking space in Prenzlauer Berg. Materials are chosen so that traces of use become patina rather than damage.
