HUMAN TOUCH is a fashion label with a sewing technique of its own. In paint-sewing the people sewing have paint on their hands, and their fingerprints stay on the fabric. What otherwise remains invisible, the human labour behind every garment, becomes part of the garment itself.

Behind the label are Juliet Seger-Banks and Christina Albrecht, both trained tailors, with clothing engineering, fashion design and pattern making besides. The project grew in 2020 out of a master’s thesis on sewing technology as a social technology, and since 2023 it has been a brand of its own.

Alongside the collections there are live sewing performances, installations, workshops and talks. The main line is made entirely in the Kreuzberg studio, from design through cutting to sewing. Added to that is the upcycling line remedy, in which the technique is applied to vintage and second-hand clothing.

HUMAN TOUCH has worked since its founding in the rooms of mono.studio in the factory building at Köpenicker Straße 175. Collections, dates and background are at humantouchclothing.com.
