Housing allocation

When a flat becomes free, the housing allocation group decides who moves in, democratically and discreetly.

Hardly any decision shapes the Forum as much as who moves in. The housing allocation group allocates flats that become free and pays attention to a good composition of the community. It tries to respond to the changing housing needs of residents, for instance through flat swaps, and talks to everyone who moves in.

The group is deliberately broadly based: seven to twelve members, elected every two years, plus one person from the management or the board. Couples and close relatives may not sit in the group together. Decisions are taken democratically, and all members undertake to treat applications, personal data and internal deliberations confidentially.

At present applications are closed. There are no vacant flats and external applications are not accepted. Because of the shortage of housing the group is currently concentrating on the needs of the people who already live here.
