The Forum largely produces its own heat and electricity: combined heat and power units, heat pumps with ground probes and air heat exchangers, heat recovery, photovoltaics. The energy group keeps an eye on this system. Is everything running? Where is action needed? And where is there still something to be gained?
The group pursues improvements to the installations, works through energy and cost efficiency, researches climate-neutral technologies and reviews offers from outside service providers. It decides on small repairs and expenses itself; on larger matters it advises the management. In the long run the energy supply of the Forum is to become climate-neutral.
The group brings together what such a system needs: an understanding of the technology, IT and programming skills for the energy monitoring, a talent for organisation and stamina in dealing with companies and tenants.
